Hello everyone,
I am sharing a sense of belonging with you all that our uniqueness and different journeys crossed here under the same course.

My name is Pamir and I am an international student from Turkey (mostly lived in Ankara, the capital city but loved living in İstanbul) as a fourth year student majoring in Psychology (Social Stream) and minoring in Business. Fingers crossed this is my last semester. I am so glad to be here right now in Victoria staying on this beautiful campus. I couldn’t believe I would be here when I changed my mind about starting from scratch with my post-secondary education by quitting my school in Turkey while I was taking an English course at the English language center at UVic in the summer of 2018 as my 3rd time in Victoria. I was determined to make my university life worth at the times I was dissatisfied with my university back at home)

Now I feel so honoured since I have observed I have belief in personal factors that could beat situational factors if one is determined with sen of self awareness (my last article review at motivation & goal setting class was about the positive correlation between with self awareness and one’s belief in free will). Since the beginning, I always tried to understand myself better and took the courses that would support me in this journey like this one.

In the future, I see myself in a position of leading an organization and people that are likely to pass from job fields such as Marketing, HR, I-O Psychology, CRM and Counselling. I know this course will (started!) help me to improve my skills.
In my free time, I usually exercise in a way to improve my mind & body connection. This helps me to stay healthy since I need my body for years by doing sports and practicing yoga, pilates, tai-chi, martial arts, animal flow, callisthenics, functional training etc. I also enjoy listening to music a lot and discovering new ones every day from different types yet I could say It is a good day for me if I turn a stranger into a friend each day. I am also passionate about different ways of brewing coffee and testing coffee beans all around the world. I almost forget, reading and photography are the other hobbies that help me to see new perspectives!

In case you read my introduction, thank you! I look forward to meeting you all and sharing our stories. I would love to practice the skills that are taught in this class with anyone, so please say hi!
